It’s pretty clear what the Reds’ weakness is at the moment and it has, unfortunately, been the case for some time – our defence.
Though we’re one of the best sides about going forwards – though we’ve missed a lot of chances recently – it’s our back-four that is the real issue and until we sort it you wonder just whether or not we’re going to win trophies.
Certainly, Jurgen Klopp would say that he is going to coach the centre-halves we’ve got into making less mistakes but the likes of Dejan Lovren still seem to be short on confidence right now.
Maybe, then, the senior defenders are just too set in their ways to really change and that has got us thinking, of the recent young defenders we’ve had that have moved on, couldn’t some of them have made it under Klopp.
