The Reds were back in action last night as Champions League football returned to Anfield for the group stages of this year’s competition.
But, despite the pre-match excitement, the result did not exactly go to plan as we were held to a 2-2 draw with Sevilla.
The Reds were the better side with more attacking intent but fell behind due to a defensive mistake from Dejan Lovren.
They did, however, have it turned around by half time but a missed Roberto Firmino penalty would prove the crunch point in the game as Sevilla got back into the tie.
Not the best result in the world, then, but also not the worst and so all that’s left to do is take a look at our player ratings from the game…
