As quoted by Sportsbild – via the Liverpool Echo – Emre Can has admitted our defence has been poor this season.

The Reds have not perhaps had the best start to the season – though it hasn’t been awful – and it looks as though it is our defence that once again is letting us down.

Of course, the whole side needs to work together to improve that and Can himself needs to make sure the midfield is more watertight.

Certainly, that’ll be key this weekend when we play Manchester United and it’ll be interesting to see how Can does in such a massive game.

In the meantime, though, he’s admitted that we’ve not been good enough so far this year at the back:

“It’s definitely a fact that we have recently defended badly and conceded too many goals.

“But I still believe that when we scored goals, we won the games. Then nobody was speaking about the defence.”

Thoughts, Reds? Let us know below!
