According to TMW, Manchester City have joined Liverpool in the race for Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam with him seemingly set for the exit.
It’s become apparent this year that, despite Napoli looking like serious Serie A challengers, Ghoulam wants to leave the club and that he will not be signing an extension to his contract.
There’s going to be interest in him, then, with him portraying all the attributes of a top modern full-back and, though Liverpool’s had already been reported, they clearly aren’t alone.
Indeed, City are also thought to be keen and it could come down to the player’s preference as to where he ends up, though we’d wonder why we’re signing him after recently bringing in Andrew Robertson.
Maybe it’ll lead to one of our left-backs leaving the club but that is all hypothetical for now.
