Liverpool rounded off the final Premier League weekend before the international break with a game against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
A game famed for the amount of goals that it has seen, things soon promised to be an open affair as both sides had early chances on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds made things tell first, though, as Philippe Coutinho fired home a fine effort from outside the box for 1-0.
The lead didn’t last to half-time, though, as Joselu sprung the offside trap and saw the ball bounce off him into the net after a Joel Matip effort.
And, despite there being some good chances for the Reds in the second half, it was another frustrating fame to take in as we drew 1-1 against the Magpies.
