As quoted by Premium Sport – via Click Liverpool – the Reds have been given a boost in their quest to keep midfielder Emre Can at the club by Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta.
The Anfield side has seen plenty of frustration on the pitch in recent weeks but, though Can is still yet to sign a new deal, it looks as though we’ve been handed some kind of positive as we head into the international break.
Indeed, the German star sees his deal with the club run out at the end of the season – amid links with Juventus – but Marotta has suggested that no deal is on the way – in January at least.
He said:
“We don’t think we are going to make a big signing in January.”
That’s a bonus, then, but we’re hoping that the midfielder signs a new deal before we properly relax.
