According to Football Whispers, Liverpool invited Kai Havertz to Melwood last month in a bid to try and bring him from Bayer Leverkusen.
The young Germany man scored four in a recent youth game for his nation and has really shot to prominence because of that and his burgeoning displays for his club’s youth set-up.
It seems apparent that the Reds are keen on bringing him in, too, and it would be also apparent that the club pulled out all the stops to try and entice him.
Indeed, in taking a step towards trying to bring him in, Havertz met Jurgen Klopp, Philippe Coutinho and Steven Gerrard as he enjoyed a look around the inner workings of the club’s training ground.
Not a bad experience to have, then, and we’ll have to wait and see if it works.
