Champions League football returned last night as the Reds were in Sevilla needing a win to secure a place in the knockout stage of the competition.
The men from Anfield knew that three points would see us into the last 16 for the first time in nearly a decade but it was going to be some ask against a Sevilla side that is so strong at home.
However, we started in superb fashion with a Roberto Firmino strike which was added to by a brilliant Sadio Mane header and then another Firmino goal.
Loris Karius pulled off some good saves, too, as we went into the break 3-0 up.
Things really changed at the start of the 2nd 45, though, as Sevilla came out a far better team and the Reds switched off to end up at 2-3 with an hour played.
And, despite apparently seeing off the surge, we still conspired to concede right at the end and throw away the lead from the first half.
A frustrating night to say the least, then, and here are our player ratings…
