Jurgen Klopp took time to reflect on Liverpool’s fine win over Spartak Moscow last night with the club’s official website delivering quotes on a number of subjects.
The German boss was rightly happy with the win as we put seven goals past the Russian side without reply to go into the final sixteen as group winners.
There was one slight setback, though, with Alberto Moreno suffering an injury and needing to be hooked during the game as he could not continue.
James Milner came on in his place, meanwhile, but Klopp reckons we might just get lucky with the severity of the injury to the Spaniard.
He said:
“We had a little shadow on the night when Alberto Moreno needed to get substituted. It was a strange situation.
“He is a tough guy and if he cannot continue the game then you should consider it could be something serious.
“In the treatment room then, he was a little bit more positive, so maybe we are lucky and it’s not too serious. We will see.”
We will see, but it looks as though Moreno might not be out for that long anyway, if he is at all.
