Jordan Henderson has said that the Reds are treating tonight’s game like a cup final as we take on Spartak Moscow in the final Champions League group game.

We know that a point is all we need at Anfield tonight to get into the last sixteen but a win would see us go through as group winners and that is something we need to be aiming for.

It promises to be an exciting night under the floodlights at L4, then, and Henderson is in no uncertain terms as to how important it is.

As quoted by the club’s official website and matchday programme, he said:

“But we also know if we lose tonight the most likely outcome is we won’t qualify. This gives this match a cup final feel to it and we have to have that mentality.”

The Reds are preparing in the right way it would seem, then, and now all we can do is wait to see how they perform in one of the most important games we’ve had for a while.
