Liverpool are looking to bolster their side this summer to improve their chances of securing Premier League glory next year but Jurgen Klopp could have a big hole in his side to fill.

German international Emre Can sees his current deal at Anfield rapidly approaching it’s end, which would lead to the 24-year-old becoming available on a free transfer this summer- and he’s dropped a hint to suggest he’s seeking a move.

Emerging as a top-target for Italian champions Juventus, Can has stated it’s his desire to play for a top side- and Liverpool may not be deemed to be that standard for the World Cup hopeful, although the club’s potential success in the Champions League could change that.

Speaking to Sport 1 about his plans for the future, Can said:

“I want to become a world-class player. Maybe once in the world team of the year. That would be great.”

Whilst he may see his best opportunity of reaching his aspired heights lying away from Anfield, Liverpool are certainly a club on the rise and Can may find out the hard way that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.
