Liverpool are looking to bolster their goalkeeping options at the end of the season as they seek to challenge properly for the Premier League next season, looking to match runaway leaders Manchester City.

The Citizens have seen a major upturn in form this year and the signing of Ederson last summer has played a big part in that, which is why Jurgen Klopp is looking to improve his side between the sticks with a stunning move this summer.

Roma stopper Alisson has emerged as the prime target for the Anfield side heading into the season but the 25-year-old has handed the Reds a blow, suggesting to Globalesportes that his preference would be Real Madrid.

“Those links massage the ego, it cannot be denied. People get satisfaction from having recognition. I feel very happy to have that recognition.”

“It means that I am doing my job well, that they are watching me. Even more so when one hears about Real Madrid.”

The Spanish giants are understood to be looking to improve their options between the sticks this summer, after failing to capture Kepa Arrizabalaga in January, and have Manchester United’s David De Gea and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois as prime candidates.
