Liverpool will continue their search for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho in the summer after losing the Brazilian ace to Barcelona in January and Jurgen Klopp is reportedly eyeing a familiar name.

Reports cited by The Daily Express state Klopp has asked the board for permission to pursue a deal for his German compatriot Julian Draxler, who continues to face questions regarding his future with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old World Cup winner has seen the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe hand him further competition for places in the French capital and the prospect of another spending-spree by the Ligue 1 leaders this summer makes his situation uncertain.

Liverpool have the finances to fund a deal for Draxler whatever PSG’s demands are due to the funds they earned from Coutinho’s sale but it remains to be seen where the German ace would fit into at Anfield, due to the stunning trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

That would suggest that Draxler would play a central midfield role at the club, whilst his versatility could come in useful over the course of the season.
