Mohamed Salah has been the talk of the town this season, with the Egypt international excelling in his maiden campaign at Anfield and leading the Premier League’s goalscoring charts.

The former Roma ace will be aiming to transfer his stellar form onto the international stage at this summer’s World Cup but, having already netted 38 goals across all competitions, is already being linked with a move to a number of European giants.

However, former Liverpool favourite John Barnes believes the winger, who has been linked with a mammoth move to Real Madrid, would struggle for form at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Quoted by The Daily Mirror, Barnes said:

“How Jurgen Klopp sends his team out gets the best out of Mo Salah. So if Mo Salah plays for another team I don’t think he’d do as well because, while he’s a great player, he’s actually found the right environment for him to maximise his potential.”

Liverpool are understandably desperate to keep their leading man this summer and are understood to be ready to fend off any interest in his services.
