Liverpool are focused on the two legs of their Champions League semi-final showdown with Roma over the course of the coming weeks but half an eye will certainly be cast on this summer’s World Cup.

There’s now less than two months until the action kicks-off in Russia and it’s left one Liverpool man facing a race against time to be fit, as he seeks to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The SunĀ states Adam Lallana has jetted off to South Africa to receive specialist treatment on a hamstring injury, after a campaign where he’s made just three starts for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

29-year-old Lallana made his long awaited injury return last month against Crystal Palace, after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a thigh problem, but lasted just a few minutes before another set-up ruled the England ace out for the season.

Lallana has an outside chance of featuring in the Champions League final, should Liverpool make it, and is desperate to have the opportunity to add to his 34 England caps this summer.
