Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague revealed that according to his knowledge Barcelona were set to let Ousmane Dembele go out on loan, and this should see Liverpool spring into action.

The respected and reliable journalist was asked during a question and answer session for Sky Sports’ website on Friday, whether Barca would sell their 21-year-old wing wizard.

“My understanding of the situation is they will let him go on loan,” replied Balague upon being asking about Dembele’s availability this summer.

“Right now, who is going to pay 100million euros (£87million) for him anyway? As I said, they will let him go on loan though.”

With such a talented player being available for loan, it would be rude if the Reds didn’t throw everything they had at acquiring his services ahead of next season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were already in pursuit of Dembele, according to Don Balon, ahead of the update with the Merseyside club believed to have put an offer on the table.

The Spanish football outlet claimed that the Reds were even willing to pay up to £69million for the winger, so this news that he will be able to be snapped up for an even cheaper price, should seem them go into overdrive to get him.

There’s no way Dembele’s loan fee is going to be anywhere near the level of money it would cost to sign him permanently, obviously, and even though it might be just for one season, his signature is still worth chasing.

The winger is a pass master, shown by his time at Borussia Dortmund when he registered 22 assists in 50 appearances, and he would create opportunity after opportunity for the Reds’ lethal attacking options.

His arrival would see Klopp’s team rip apart every team they faced next season and lead to the club lifting countless trophies.

While 21-year-old may have had a disappointing season at Barcelona in his latest campaign, registering just nine assists in 23 outings, with regular football under his belt he will be flying once again.

Therefore Balague’s enticing update about the wing wizard’s availability in the transfer market must send Liverpool’s previously reported pursuit into overdrive, even if it’s just to successfully get Dembele on loan as he will be a revelation.
