Liverpool are in preliminary talks with Besiktas over a summer move for striker Divock Origi, according to Turkish Football.

The Turkish outlet report that Besiktas president Fikret Orman has also held discussions with the Belgium international’s agent in London last week.

Turkish Football claim that the Reds could be forced to sell Origi this summer, with the 23-year-old having just one year left on his current deal at Anfield.

Origi has made 77 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals and providing seven assists.

Good move for Liverpool?

Origi does not look like he has much of a future at Anfield, and that has been clear for a while.

The youngster had a relatively successful early spell at the club, but has never really had a look in under Jurgen Klopp, spending this season on loan in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.

Considering the fact that he has just a year left on his deal, now looks like the right time for the Reds to offload Origi, who does not seem likely to ever break back into the first-team picture on Merseyside.

As long as Besiktas can stump up the right cash, then this one looks a positive deal for all parties.

Likely to happen?

Besiktas look to be keen on Origi, with the report suggesting talks with both the club and the agent have happened already.

An exit for the 23-year-old is looking like it will happen, and Besiktas definitely look to be putting the wheels in motion to make that happen.
