Robbie Fowler claimed he had rarely seen players so relaxed when he visited Liverpool’s training camp last week and it proved that the future was bright.

The former Reds forward shared the peaceful vibe was a result of the players buying into Jurgen Klopp’s vision for the club and that it signified something special.

Fowler continued stating that despite disappointment in the Champions League final, the German boss had built the foundation for success at Anfield and his influence on the players would be key to the club lifting trophies in the future.

“The final in Kiev may seem like the end of a journey for Liverpool, but I have a deep-rooted feeling it is just the start for Jurgen Klopp and his team,” wrote the Reds legend for the Daily Mirror.

“We talked tactics and man-management, players and pride, but the things that stood out for me were his love for his men and Liverpool as a football club…and his incredible, unadulterated passion for his job.

“That means so much going forward. It is – I promise – the foundation for success at Anfield.

“It didn’t matter about the result in Kiev, just reaching the final puts the whole dynamic of what is happening at Liverpool in the minds of the next generation of top stars.

“There’s a buzz again around Anfield. All the stuff that Klopp said about Liverpool being back in the build up to the final, it wasn’t just empty words.

“When I was in the training camp with the team last week I could see they really believe it, I have rarely seen players so relaxed, enjoying being part of something so much.

“It is something special, and they have the ‘Normal One’ to thank for that.”

OPINION

Fowler is offering Reds supporters the comfort they need after the disappointing events of Saturday. The legend has clearly personally observed enough of Klopp’s team firsthand to believe that success is incoming at Anfield and is an interesting insight to read. The retired footballer played for plenty of clubs in his career and for him to say that he has rarely seen players so relaxed is huge. This factor is clearly key in the eyes of Fowler to Klopp bringing success and it’s easy to see why he thinks that. A happy team on the same wavelength is way more likely to lift trophies than a stressed out side constantly under pressure, who don’t share the same vision as their manager. Fowler promises that the foundation of success is in place at Anfield and if there were any fans in need of cheering up after Saturday’s defeat to Real Madrid, they should probably read his column several times to get over their feeling of sadness.
