The agent of Liverpool forward Divock Origi revealed that he has held key talks with other clubs over his client potentially leaving Anfield.

Simon Bayliff, who represents the 23-year-old attacker, revealed that despite having several discussions with multiple clubs about his client leaving, Jurgen Klopp was yet to make a decision about Origi’s future.

The Reds attacker, who has made 77 appearances in total for the Merseyside giants, spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Wolfsburg where he scored seven goals in 36 appearances.

“The real mistake was that Divock was going to Wolfsburg,” Bayliff, who is the forward’s agent as quoted by Fotospor.

“He will be back now, Jürgen (Klopp) will make a decision for him.

“But this time he does not want to leave on loan. It’s going to be a pity that the plans are respected. Maybe he will make a choice that will be thought of as a step backwards.

“I saw Besiktas. But not only the Tukish side, [clubs in] Spain and England, there are those who want him.”

OPINION

It will be disappointing if Origi ends up leaving Liverpool anytime soon as despite already making 77 appearances for the club, it feels like he has more to offer than previously seen. The 23-year-old forward, who can also play as a winger, showed glimpses of what he was capable of in his latest campaign and he does look like a worthwhile talent to keep around. However if he isn’t to be used in the first-team anytime soon by Klopp then the club might as well cash in. Clearly Origi doesn’t fancy another loan spell, which is understandable as he no doubt wants to settle at a club, and there’s no point holding on to someone whose chances will continue to be limited. One thing is for certain, Klopp has a big decision to make regarding the attacker’s future as he doesn’t want end up seeing him become a superstar at another club if he decides to let him leave. So with Origi set to return to Anfield shortly, upon his loan deal finishing, it seems a meeting with Klopp is imminent and could swiftly decide his future.
