Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to witness Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi firsthand this summer as the 20-year-old is likely to be in the Reds squad for their pre-season tour of America.

Sudinfo.net reported on Thursday that the Reds’ hidden gem, who has been dazzling on loan at Belgian club Mouscron this season, was tipped to be involved with the Reds’ currently scheduled pre-season tour, that will feature games against the likes of Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.

The Belgian news site reported that Awoniyi was currently back at Liverpool healing a hamstring injury and was about to sign a new contract with the Premier League side to guarantee his future at the club until June 2022.

The Belgian outlet’s report seems to suggest that with Klopp about to personally see the centre-forward’s currently shining talent, the attacker is defiantly being made to justify his new deal.

This is something that Awoniyi is not just capable of doing, but definitely will do as he has proven his potential while out on loan at Mouscron.

The 20-year-old seems to have finally found his shooting boots and has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 10 goals in 31 appearances for the Belgian side.

The 5ft 8in tall forward has not only scored goals, he has also provided his teammates with opportunities by registering seven assists.

Awoniyi has long been a hidden gem in the Reds’ academy as due to suffering work permit issues ever since he arrived at Anfield 2015, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, he has struggled to get the attention he deserves.

The forward has had to constantly go out on loan due to his issues, with his latest spell being his third away from the club, and it has seen his development fly under the radar.

However after making himself unable to ignore with his displays this season, it seems he is finally going to be able to prove how good he is to the current Reds’ first-team manager.

There is no doubt that the attacker has learnt all the skills needed to leave a positive impression on Klopp that will guarantee his promising future remains with the club.

Although Awoniyi still won’t be featuring for the first-team next season, as Sudinfo.net claimed that the 20-year-old would go back out on loan after spending pre-season with the Reds, and already had interest from Belgian clubs Mouscron and Brugge FC.

Therefore the stage is set for one of the Reds’ hidden gems to wow Klopp with his ability this summer in order to earn his new contract which is apparently incoming.
