Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey would be able to hand Jurgen Klopp the Premier League title next season, yet his name is buried amongst two others in Liverpool’s reported shortlist.

The Daily Mail reported earlier in May that the Reds had drawn up a three-man shortlist in order to find players that would strengthen the club’s already potent attack.

The newspaper put all their emphasis on focusing on Bordeaux’s Malcom and casually mentioned that the other two players being considered were Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund and Bailey.

While all three would be welcomed at Anfield anytime soon, it’s Bailey’s name that should be popping off the page, but the report buried it among praise for Malcom.

The 20-year-old winger scored 12 goals, while creating six, in the 34 appearances he has made in his latest campaign, and that just is the tip of the iceberg with his talents.

Given Bailey’s age and vast potential, the exciting attacking force just seems to get better game to game, and looks capable of ripping any team apart in the Premier League if signed for next season.

While there may be many that think the Reds’ need to prioritise strengthening their defensive unit in order to push on for the title, Klopp’s side have already proven that isn’t the case.

The Reds are already strong enough to compete for the league title defensively, thanks to the arrival of Virgil van Dijk and the improvement of Loris Karius in goal, and it seems it’s better just to continue to win games by using the side’s sheer force upfront.

This mentality could see the Reds lift the Champions League trophy this season and with Bailey’s arrival, it would increase the club’s attacking threat so much so, that the Premier League title would quickly follow next season.

Therefore the Reds must go all out to sign Bailey as they’re clearly aware of what a positive effect he could have on the team as he has made their shortlist of targets for the summer.
