Fitness coach Jordan Milsom has joined Rangers from Liverpool – and fans have taken to Twitter to hail it as a “great” move.

Milson took to his personal Twitter account on Friday morning to explain that he has quit as strength and rehabilitation coach at Anfield to take a new role of head of performance at the Scottish giants as he follows new manager Steven Gerrard north of the border.

The boyhood Liverpool fan has decided to leave the Premier League giants after an eight-year spell working for the academy that began in 2010.

He will join Gerrard’s backroom staff as Rangers continue to take on a Merseyside flavour during a massive overhaul on and off the pitch.

The Scottish giants finished the recent season a long way adrift of Celtic and took action by dumping interim boss Graeme Murty and replacing him with Gerrard.

The appointment of Milsom is an under-the-radar move but attracted widespread social media comment as mainly Gers fans welcomed him abroad, claiming they “can’t wait” and it was a “great” move.
