Liverpool have made an approach to sign Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claim that Palace have offered a new contract worth more than £120,000-a-week to the 25-year-old to fend off interest from the Reds, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham.

The Mirror report the south Londoners are keen to improve the terms of the £100,000-a-week deal Zaha signed in May of last year that has four years remaining.

OPINION

Zaha is a re-born player since quitting Manchester United to return to his south London roots and those who doubted whether he could be a consistently effective Premier League forward are having to eat humble pie. He scored five goals in the final six matches of 2017-18 to almost singlehandedly keep Palace in the top flight, and his value to the club was demonstrated by how they struggled during his two spells out injured last season, when they lost all nine matches. Little wonder Palace’s top brass are willing to break the bank to nail down their prize asset and lucky totem. He is more than just an exciting dribbler who unhinges defences with pace and skill. Zaha is also learning to play with his back to goal and his improved movement made him even more of a handful last season than ever before. Trent Alexander-Arnold was given the runaround for a half by Zaha at Selhurst Park in March and can vouch for just how good the 25-year-old actually is.
