Liverpool are looking to build a squad that can compete for the Premier League title next season and are perhaps just a couple of pieces short of doing exactly that.

The Reds of course need a couple of additions defensive, while finding a creative midfielder should also be high on their summer wishlist.

One man that should crop up on their radar is Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze, who famously helped Germany win the World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Argentina in 2014.

However, the attacking midfielder has lost his way a bit recently and a fresh move to the Premier League could be the perfect remedy to reignite his form.

Sky Sports reports that Everton, Arsenal and West Ham are all keen on signing the 26-year-old this summer, while Marseille and Valencia are also interested.

It is understood that Bundesliga outfit Dortmund would be keen to get back most of the £22million they spent on the 5ft 8in (source: Transfermarkt) German.

Liverpool should seriously plot a move to bring Gotze to Anfield and a reunion with his former manager Jurgen Klopp could be magical.

Gotze was a key player during Klopp’s time with Dortmund when they won back-to-back Bundesliga titles and can be the perfect link up between midfield and attack.

His influence has dropped off slightly recently, but he still managed two goals and seven assists in 32 appearances during the 2017/18 season.

The Merseyside club are crying out for another creative option in the centre of the park to help unleash the dynamic front three and Gotze would be perfect if he gets back to his best, something that Klopp will know how to do.
