Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to claim imminent new Manchester United signing Fred is a pale shadow of their own 2018 midfield recruits Naby Keita and Fabinho.
The Mirror live transfer blog (Tuesday, 10.56am) claims the Brazil international was given time off from his country’s World Cup preparations to have his medical at Carrington on Monday and complete a £52million transfer to Old Trafford
Fred will become United’s first signing of the summer and make a move to the north-west just over a week after Fabinho was confirmed as Liverpool’s second summer signing after Keita, which was agreed last summer.
Intriguingly, Fred beat Fabinho into Brazil’s World Cup squad and is in contention to start as their midfield anchorman in Russia later this month.
Liverpool supporters are convinced they have the better players, and that their manager Jurgen Klopp will maximise their abilities, as they reacted to Fred’s imminent arrival at their rivals.

We’ve been making such good deals lately, that they have to go back 7 years to justify the price they’re paying for Fred. I love Jurgen Klopp ???? #manutd #lfc https://t.co/TRTul8TYxn

Think Fred can’t be compared with Fabinho. He is more a player like Naby Keita. And I think Liverpool have got a better player! #lfc

I love the state our clubs are in where we could have signed either Fred or Fabinho and if the other one had gone to United I’d know our one would do better. Klopp improves talent, Mourinho nullifies it.
