Liverpool are in the midst of a busy summer window as they look to build upon a brilliant season which saw them transform into challengers on the European stage once again.

One area of focus for Jurgen Klopp this summer has been midfield, with Fabinho confirmed as a new arrival alongside Naby Keita in the centre of the park.

The Reds have also targeted a move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir, but that deal collapsed at the last minute after a knee issue was uncovered during his medical.

What is clear is that Klopp is targeting a strong midfield next season, and will inevitably look to add to that after the breakdown of the Fekir deal.

And now an opportunity may have arisen for the Reds as they look to add in that area, with Calciomercato reporting that super agent Mino Raiola has offered PSG star Marco Verratti to Manchester United.

The Italian outlet claim that the Italy international has been told to lose weight by new PSG boss Thomas Tuchel, with Real Madrid and Juventus monitoring the situation.

While Tuchel has reportedly told Verratti he wants him to be an important player for the Ligue 1 champions in 2018/19, it looks as though an exit is on the cards for the 25-year-old.

Liverpool must now be prepared to hijack this interest in the £132,000-a-week PSG star [Source: Silly Season] and make him the latest addition in their midfield revolution.

Verratti has long been considered one of Europe’s best central midfielders, and with the 25-year-old still developing his game, he could become even better at Liverpool.

It seems as though his development has stagnated a bit in Paris, and a move to Liverpool would surely see him step up and take his game to another level under Klopp.

A midfield three of Verratti, Keita and Fabinho, with deputies in Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would mean Liverpool possess the most overpowered and dominant midfield in England.

It is an opportunity that Liverpool cannot pass up this summer, and they must move to hijack the interest in Verratti as soon as possible before he inevitably completes a move to one of his multiple suitors.
