Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas hold serious interest in Liverpool forwards Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi, according to A Spor

The Turkish outlet report that officials from the Istanbul-based side have planned a transfer mission this week in which they will fly to England and attempt to negotiate a move for Sturridge.

A Spor claim that they are seeking a deal between £6.1million and £8.8million for the 28-year-old, with Liverpool’s valuation potentially the only obstacle to a deal.

It is said that Besiktas will turn to a deal for Origi if one cannot be negotiated for Sturridge, with the Turkish club rating the young Belgian around £5.2million.

Good move for Liverpool?

Yes.

Sturridge and Origi are both quite clearly surplus to requirements at Anfield, with neither looking likely to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans this summer.

Both players are out of contract at the club next year, and the club must do all they can to squeeze every penny out of deals which will see them leave in the coming weeks.

Seeing them leave to a club abroad would be ideal for the club as well, with Liverpool not wanting to see them come back to form for a domestic rival.

Likely to happen?

It looks like a deal for Sturridge is Besiktas’ first choice, and the Turkish club look keen to pursue a deal for the England international first.

However, Liverpool have always valued Sturridge highly despite his injury issues, and that could see them potentially priced out of a deal.

A move for Origi will be easier to push through, and it may end up that they settle on the young Belgian as an alternative to Sturridge.
