Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic shared that he was in no rush to resolve his short-term future despite Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Galatasaray all reportedly being keen to take him on loan.

The 22-year-old stated that he was planning on talking to Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards over the next few weeks about his future but as for now he was just keen to focus on the Reds.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that another temporary exit for Grujic is on the cards after he had a successful spell at the Bluebirds last season.

“I will speak about my situation with the manager and Michael (Edwards) over the next few weeks,” said Grujic, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“I am now a Liverpool player and I want to show the best of me to Jurgen (Klopp).

“After this tour we have a training camp in France. I will try to show my best and then we will see what happens.

“Everyone knows we bought two new midfielders, two great players and great guys. There are a lot of players in my position so we will see what happens in the next few weeks.

“Of course I would rather go somewhere to play rather than just stay here and sit on the bench and only play for the under-23s, it’s the decision of the club and what they decide is best for me I’ll go along with.”

OPINION

While Grujic is willing to keep his options open and seems to be still hoping to impress Klopp in order to feature in the manager’s plans next season, it’s likely that he is about to depart on loan. The 22-year-old clearly states that he is happy for that situation to develop if he isn’t going to regularly play  football at Anfield. The Daily Mail reported that Crystal Palace were wisely trying to stop Cardiff City signing him on loan as they wanted the talented midfielder for themselves while Galatasaray were thought to be interested according to Aksam. However it seems that the best scenario for all parties involved would be for him to join Cardiff this summer. Grujic flourished while on loan with Neil Warnock’s side in the second half of last season and would quickly be able to hit the ground running in the next campaign due to it being a familiar setting for him. Thankfully it seems that Cardiff are the likely winners of Grujic’s signature as Warnock told BBC Sport that he had spoken to the player yesterday and was optimistic that a temporary deal for his services would be done.
