Liverpool believe a season-long loan at Eintracht Frankfurt for Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza will aid his chances of getting a work permit next summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The local newspaper claim that the Reds hope that by loaning their 20-year-old central midfielder to the Bundesliga side, who are also in the Europa League next season, the player will be able to successfully apply for a work permit in 2019.

The Liverpool Echo report that keeping Allan at the club wasn’t an option for Jurgen Klopp this season as he doesn’t meet the necessary criteria to be able to play in the United Kingdom.

OPINION

It’s seem the Reds are hoping that Allan’s work permit issues will be over next summer and it’s now easy to see why they chose to loan him to Eintrach Frankfurt. It seems that the midfielder’s chances of being approved for a work permit will be increased by regularly playing in one of Europe’s top-divisions. While the 20-year-old may not have featured for the Reds’ senior team due to his issues, he seems to be highly thought of at the club. The Reds clearly rate the left-footed midfielder (Transfermarkt) as not only are they aiming for his work permit issues to be a thing of the past, they extended his contract (Source: Liverpool’s website) before he exited the club on loan. While everyone involved with Allan is probably frustrated over his situation at least he will continue to develop as he is likely to pick up a thing or two while playing at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga in the 2018/19 campaign.
