Liverpool anticipate that Harry Wilson will complete his loan move to Derby County within the next 48 hours, according to the Liverpool Echo

The regional newspaper claim that the 21-year-old left-footed winger is on the brink of sealing a temporary exit from the Reds as a deal to see him join the Championship side on loan is close to be finalised.

The Liverpool Echo report that Wilson has been very in-demand this summer due to the Reds being willing to let him depart in order to secure regular first-team football for next season.

OPINION

Wilson impressed when on loan at Hull City in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign and it’s no surprise that there were several clubs competing for his services. While the likes of Stoke City and Norwich City, who according to this report were thought to be interested, will be cursing their luck at potentially missing out on Wilson, it seems Derby should be preparing to celebrate his capture. While the deal isn’t done yet, based on this report it is very close to be all wrapped up. After scoring seven goals in 13 league appearances for the Tigers in his latest campaign, new Derby boss Frank Lampard no doubt will be expecting Wilson to continue being as clinical in front of goal in the upcoming season. The 21-year-old has all the skills needed to aid Lampard in his quest to win promotion from Derby and Reds fans should keep one eye on his progress as it will no doubt be a positive development to watch.
