OPINION
While some Reds supporters were disheartened by Sky Sports’ update on the club’s pursuit of Alisson a lot opted to tweet that the broadcaster was wrong about the subject. The Liverpool Echo had previously shared that the Reds were believed to have offered £53million up front, plus £9million of add ons, in order to get the keeper and it’s easy to believe that is the case. Jurgen Klopp’s side have consistently been linked with making a move for Alisson this summer and given Loris Karius’ recent troubles, the club are likely to be willing to spend big in order to sign a new goalkeeper. If the reported bid is true then it will set a new world record as it will be the highest amount ever paid to sign a goalkeeper.
