A Times journalist has revealed that while Harry Wilson will sign a new deal with Liverpool, he will still likely be moved out on loan for the season – and a big section of Liverpool fans are not happy.

Paul Joyce made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon, reeling off a list of 12 Championship clubs keen to snap up the talented attacker.

The 21-year-old was hoping to have the chance to impress Jurgen Klopp this summer and force his way into the senior team, especially after he scored two goals in the friendly against Chester at the weekend.

However, that doesn’t look like it will happen now, and Liverpool fans are not happy.

One fan said that he should get a shot, especially with Liverpool’s lack of depth in that position, while another said he was a ‘mad talent’.

Another fan said it meant the writing was on the wall for Wilson and that he would impress on loan and then be sold by Liverpool. He added at 21 he wouldn’t be getting a chance for Liverpool if he did go out on loan.

Here are the best reactions from disappointed Liverpool fans:

However, one Liverpool fan did see that something good could come out of this, saying that they should give Wilson and do a deal for Xherdan Shaqiri in return.

OPINION:

There are a lot of Liverpool fans who think that Harry Wilson should be given a chance at Anfield, but it looks more likely that he’ll head out on loan. At 21, that won’t fill him full of hope for his Liverpool future and it would be a damn shame if a talent like him was allowed to leave without getting a chance to shine. Liverpool want to win trophies, but at what cost? Talented homegrown players like this don’t come around a lot and it makes Liverpool look more like Chelsea, a team that’s breeds talented young players just to sell on for profit.
