Many Liverpool fans took to social media to react to a report that shared Harry Wilson would get chance to impress Jurgen Klopp in pre-season.
The Liverpool Echo reported that the German boss was not in a hurry to decide the 21-year-old winger’s future at the club despite the club receiving dozens of request from Championship sides to take him on loan.
The newspaper stated that the exciting winger was set to feature in the Reds’ domestic friendlies during pre-season, including Saturday’s game against Chester, with Klopp set to consider whether to keep him as part of his squad.
One Reds tweeted that the club could have really used him at the tail-end of last season while another stated on Twitter that the youngster was too good to be loaned out every year.
Live 4 Liverpool has rounded up a section of tweets by Reds’ fans following a report providing an update on Wilson’s future at the club:
There were games towards the end we played Ings Clyne as Wingers we could have really used Wilson instead

If Klopp rates Harry Wilson so highly, then why has he not been given a chance in a competitive game despite been involved in 44goals last couple of seasons? ?

I want Harry to be given the chance to prove he can push for a first team place, Klopp should allow him a chance during pre-season I think he would do well for us during the season something different to bring on from the bench which was thin at times last season

He must stay, he is our best back up winger in the squad… why even spend monies on Moses Simon?

OPINION
Wilson is a fantastic talent who has a bright future in football and it’s important that he gets regular first-team football in the upcoming season to aid his development. The 21-year-old winger may struggle to feature enough at Anfield this season even though he is capable of making several appearances from the bench. While he could get several games at the Reds if made first choice back-up to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane it might not be enough to see him continue to develop at a rapid rate. Hopefully he’ll impress Klopp in pre-season before going out on loan in order to return ready to be a member of the first-squad next season.
