Jurgen Klopp has talked for the first time about the concussion that Loris Karius suffered in the Champions League final, but a section of Liverpool fans are concerned that this means he’s going to get a second chance at the club.
Talking to the official Liverpool site, Klopp said: “If you ask Loris, he says he didn’t think about it and didn’t use it for a second as an excuse.
“We don’t use it as an excuse, we use it as an explanation… We don’t think about that anymore and we start completely new.”
Karius made two high-profile mistakes that effectively cost Liverpool the Champions League title, with Real Madrid ending up as 3-1 winners.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of new goalkeepers this summer, including Brazil’s Alisson, and Liverpool fans think a new stopper is key if they want to challenge for the Premier League title.

Klopp’s comments – his first on the concussion – seem to have split Liverpool fans straight down the middle.
Some are worried it means that Liverpool won’t sign a new keeper and think this could be a fatal mistake if they want to challenge for the Premier League.
However, others want fans to trust in Klopp and are saying the manager knows what he’s doing. One said that if Klopp thinks Liverpool need a new keeper, then he’ll buy one.
If Karius does stay, he’ll have increased pressure on him next season and will need to be supremely strong in the first few games of the season.
