After goalkeeper Allison Becker arrived from Roma for £67 million, there was no doubt that Jurgen Klopp would instate him as Liverpool’s number one this season.

However, that means Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet were relegated down the pecking order upon his arrival.

The Sun report that the goalkeeping duo of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet have attracted attention from Europe, with Karius the subject of a potential loan move from Turkish club Besiktas.

On the other hand, Mignolet has reportedly attracted attention from Serie A in the shape of Napoli, meaning Klopp now has a dilemma on his hands.

The Reds undoubtedly need a quality back-up stopper as cover for their Brazilian buy, but it is a question as to who he would like to keep at Anfield, and who he would like to bin.

Karius did not enjoy the greatest of moments in the latter stages of last season, which saw him make some incredibly costly errors in the Champions League Final against Real Madrid.

Klopp needs to question whether the German keeper needs a fresh start to forget about that dismal time, as it has bound to have had a long-term effect on him.

Things were not the same after that, which ultimately resulted in Klopp seeking out an alternative elsewhere.

Nevertheless, he also needs to ask himself if he really wants Mignolet to deputise for his new number one in his absence – the Belgian did not make the largest of impacts when he arrived, and he is not going to in the future either.

Getting rid of Mignolet may be more difficult than Klopp first thought, as Besiktas were said to be put off signing him after baulking at his high wages.

Either keeper would be a quality addition wherever they may potentially end up, but it is down to Klopp who it will be.
