A section of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after the club was linked to Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Leon Bailey after his comments.
The young maestro told German magazine Kicker, as translated by the Mirror, that there was “concrete interest” from clubs after his services, with Liverpool one of the names linked to him according to a Daily Mail report in May.
He also said that “my management and Bayer 04 will take care of it” if a club came knocking in what is left of this summer’s transfer window.

These comments by Bailey has left a section of Reds’ supporters excited, despite the fact that Jurgen Klopp already has a talented attack to call upon. Comments included “would be much better than Pulisic” and “he can be a super sub.”

OPINION
Liverpool’s link to Leon Bailey after his comments has certainly gone down well with the fans. Bailey is an up and coming star, so it would not be surprising if he a made a move to one of the big clubs come deadline day. The Reds have already splashed the cash this summer, but this section of supporters are clearly up for them to spend that bit more on Bailey. He would be a great addition to Liverpool, but whether they act on his comments remains to be seen. Either way, he is wanted by many at the club, who will undoubtedly have their fingers crossed for a last minute deal.
