Some Liverpool fans on social media reacted positively to the club reportedly planning contract talks with defender Andy Robertson.
The Daily Mirror reported on Sunday that Reds chief had talks planned in order to discuss a new deal that will see him pocket in the region of £60,000-a-week despite him only signing a contract with the club upon joining from Hull City 13 months ago.
This report had several Reds supporters thrilled with one sharing that they were genuinely chuffed to hear this news while another feared the club were short changing the defender and should be a discussing a new contract worth £100,000-per-week with him.

Robertson defied expectations in his 2017/18 campaign at the Reds and will no doubt continue to cast a spell over his supporters as his classy displays continue. The position of left-back was long seen as a problem in Jurgen Klopp’s side but since grabbing his opportunity to stake a claim to be a first-regular last season, the club haven’t looked back. Robertson was signed by the Reds last summer and while he wasn’t instantly put into the first-team upon arriving, it didn’t take that long in hindsight for him to show everyone why the club had opted to buy him. Hopefully the 24-year-old can continue to put in good performances for the Reds in the 2018/19 season and really earn the new contract that is reportedly about to be handed to him. It’s easy to see that supporters on Twitter have been impressed with the left-back as the majority of them are not just in favour of him getting a new contract, they want him to get a very lucrative deal due to his importance to their side.
