Former Liverpool player John Arne Riise has waxed lyrical over striker Mo Salah following his performance in the 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.
The ex-Reds defender claimed, via his personal Twitter account, that the first teamer was excellent after his performance at the weekend despite people believing that he has had a bad start to the Premier League season after just two goals.
He wrote on the social media site: “For a player that people saying is having a bad start, Mo Salah is freaking brilliant.”
For a player that people saying is having a bad start, @MoSalah is freaking brilliant ?????

Salah netted his third goal of the campaign to put the Reds 3-0 up, before having a goal ruled out for offside towards the end of the clash.
OPINION
It is hard not to agree with the former Liverpool man here – Salah certainly had one of his best goals of the season against Southampton on Saturday. He may not have had the best of starts, but you cannot deny the impact that he made on this game – his goal being the highlight amongst his sprightly attacking play. He deserves more credit for what he contributed to this match, and there is no doubt that those who have criticised his form previously will slowly start to come back in praise of the forward. Yes, he did have a point to prove in this game – but it is hard to replicate the form that saw him score 31 goals last term. Arne Riise labelled him as “freaking brilliant” – and he is not far wrong. Salah is the one player that made the biggest impact on the result and hopefully he continues to dish out impressive outings such as this one.
