Some Chelsea fans took to social media in order to destroy Alvaro Morata for his performance during the 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The Blues brought the Reds’ 100% start to the 2018/19 season to halt by securing a narrow win over them in the EFL Cup on Wednesday but Blues supporters were quick to make sure Morata got no credit for his part.
One fan tweeted that the sooner the 25-year-old stopped playing for the club the better it was for the fans while another claimed that the attacker’s latest display showed that he was Chelsea’s worst player.

OPINION
Morata is having a tough time at Stamford Bridge and while several Chelsea fans call him a waste and clearly want to see the back of him, Liverpool fans are no doubt grateful that he is not in the best of form. The attacker, who earns £140,000-a-week at the Blues (Source: Spotrac), could have handed the Blues a comfortable win on Wednesday in the League Cup but he missed several opportunities to score. As one fan tweeted if this was a game of football manager then most players would have instantly transfer listing Morata after his display. The 25-year-old looks stripped of any confidence when it comes to being in front of goal and it seems very likely that he won’t get back anytime soon. Hopefully from a Reds perspective the forward will be leading the line for his side on Saturday when Blues face Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Premier League as he may helps his opponents get the win by being wasteful in front of goal.
