Liverpool do not have a recall clause in place for in-form attacker Harry Wilson, according to ESPN reporter Glenn Price.

The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that the Reds cannot tear up the 21-year-old’s loan deal at Derby and even if they could, they probably wouldn’t.

Wilson is currently on loan at Pride Park and he scored a memorable free kick in their Carabao Cup clash against Manchester United, which helped Frank Lampard’s side progress to the next round.

OPINION

Wilson has netted a couple of goals this season, but it seems that the attacking flyer is showing everyone that his free kicks are his main strength. He scored a stunner against United and produced another one in Wales’ 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland. There is no doubting that the young ace is talented, but that does not automatically mean that Liverpool are going to suddenly recall him from his loan. At the moment, he would be spending most of his time on the bench at Anfield, so recalling him would essentially be pointless. Seeing out the rest of his loan spell with Derby will allow him to progress even more, and by the time he returns, he may even be rewarded with a first team start by Jurgen Klopp. However, it is important not to get too carried away – Wilson is clearly enjoying his spell at Derby, so it would not be fair to bring him back to Liverpool at the moment.
