Many Liverpool fans on social media heavily criticised Adam Lallana for his performance against Cardiff City on Saturday.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder started the game against the Bluebirds and despite his side achieving a relatively comfortable 4-1 victory, a section of supporters were not happy with Lallana.
One fan tweeted that anyone defending the player for his latest display must have a truly awful opinion, while another claimed that they had seen milk turn quicker.
COMMENTARY
There is a section of Liverpool fans who won’t give Lallana a break after being frustrated at how often he has been ruled out of games due to injury. So while the experienced midfielder did struggle to really standout for the right reasons against Neil Warnock’s side, some of the criticism below about him, is ridiculously harsh. Lallana is going to take some time to get back to his best and that means some of his performance are going to demonstrate that he is little rusty after not regularly playing football for some time. Yet Jurgen Klopp clearly believes Lallana is worth keeping the faith in and fans should trust their manager as he hasn’t led them wrong so far. Hopefully the attacking midfielder is able to regain supporters’ affection soon as the negative feedback towards his performance is probably crushing his already frail confidence. The midfielder needs building up and perhaps fans should give him at least a few more games to build fitness up, before jumping on social media to tear him apart.
