Liverpool starlet Bobby Duncan is being eyed up for a switch to the Bundesliga by Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, according to the Daily Mail

The newspaper report that Duncan is the latest young English player to attract attention from Germany, with the success of Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund illustrating the talent waiting to emerge at Premier League clubs.

The Mail claim that Leipzig and Munich join Dortmund in showing an interest in the 17-year-old Liverpool forward, who has enjoyed a brilliant start to life on Merseyside after a switch from Manchester City in the summer.

Duncan has been in red-hot form for the Liverpool youth teams this season, scoring 10 goals already.

It is no surprise that Duncan is beginning to attract attention from Germany, with Bundesliga clubs being linked to some of the Premier League’s top talents in recent months. Sancho’s move to Dortmund, which has seen him become a regular in the Bundesliga and earn his first England caps, has proved that such a move is a viable path to stardom for young players languishing in Premier League academies. Reiss Nelson’s successful switch to Hoffenheim on loan from Arsenal has further reinforced that, and it would not be a surprise to see many more young players jet out to Germany to earn their breakthrough in the coming years. Duncan is not quite at the level both Sancho and Nelson were when they made their moves, but the young forward is certainly getting there. However, the likelihood of him making this move is low. Duncan is a lifelong Liverpool fan and gave up his place in City’s world-class academy to make the switch, and he is not likely to give his place at Liverpool up so quickly.
