Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday by securing a win in the derby against Everton.

The Merseyside derby takes place this Sunday and Jurgen Klopp will want to keep the pace with Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League table.

Midfielder Jordan Henderson is suspended for this fixture due to his red card against Watford last weekend so he will be unavailable.

In goal, Alisson should be starting as normal.

The back four is expected to remain largely the same, but Dejan Lovren – who featured against PSG and is on £90,000-a-week [Spotrac] – is expected to drop out in order to accommodate Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was left out of the side on Wednesday so that Joe Gomez could switch to right-back.

Fans were clamouring for 20-year-old Alexander-Arnold to play against PSG and fans partly blame the defensive switch for the loss.

Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to come into the starting XI – with the dazzler starring in a trio that includes Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino playing just behind a lone striker – as well as Naby Keita, whose cameo warrants against PSG him a spot ahead of James Milner.

Gini Wijnaldum is expected to keep his place despite a mixed display at the Parc des Princes, while Mo Salah is expected to lead the line when they face the Toffees instead of Firmino

Other than these three changes, Klopp is not expected to make anymore switches to the first team to take on their local rivals.
