Many Liverpool fans on social media destroyed midfielder Adam Lallana for his performance during the 2-0 loss to Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
A large section of Reds supporters were fuming with the England international with one dubbing him a liability for his latest display.
Lallana has been used sparingly by Jurgen Klopp this season, it was only his fifth appearance of the season on Tuesday against Red Star, after battling his way back from injury.
Lallana, who earns £110,000-a-week at Anfield (Source: BBC), just can’t get up to speed quick enough in order for fans not to criticised his displays. Yet on Tuesday night the sections of supporters calling for the club to get rid of him, were easily able to justified their opinion. Lallana struggled from start to finish and while there were brief glimpses of his talents, they were rather fleeting. The attacking midfielder failed to carve out clear-cut chances and faded away as the match went on. While it’s easy to have sympathy for the midfielder due to his recent poor luck with injuries, his poor displays can’t be overlooked. As one fan said Lallana has transformed from an asset to a liability and with the Reds looking to get trophies this season, they can’t afford to carry him in their team. The experienced midfielder is too easily shoved off the ball and it isn’t fair to his teammates to ask them to rely upon him, as they can’t do the work of two players.

I guess it’s injuries that turned Lallana from asset to liability. Annnnd we conceded again when we should’ve scored. Horrible. #lfc

If pirouettes were essential to football then Lallana would be the Swan Lake of football. But it’s not. #LFC
