Some Liverpool fans on social media heaped praise on attacker Bobby Duncan after he impressed while featuring for the club’s U-18s.

The 17-year-old forward scored twice during the U-18’s 6-0 victory over Reading at the Academy in Kirkby on Saturday, despite not starting the game.

Duncan replaced fellow prolific youngster Paul Glatzel during the match and scored with his first touch.

The teenager’s display on Saturday has fans buzzing about his potential, due to it seeing his scoring run continue, and one fan even boldly tipped him to win the Ballon d’or in 2025.

COMMENTARY

Duncan is a star in the making and his record at the Reds so far is inspiring. The forward had scored six goals in eight outings in the U-18s Premier League ahead of Saturday’s clash and it’s no surprise that one fan tweeted that it is as if the youngster just can’t scoring. Duncan officially joined the Reds in the summer after leaving Manchester City and it seems his recruitment was a fantastic move. Hopefully the teen is able to keep progressing and fulfil his potential as it will see him be huge success in football as well as Anfield. While at least one fan shared they wouldn’t mind seeing the red-hot attacker in the first-team, but perhaps he should be tested at U-23 level first. Jurgen Klopp can reward Duncan by having him train with the first-team, however testing him on a regular basis for the U-23s side would be the best move at this stage.
