Sir Kenny Dalglish heaped praise on Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah ahead of his side taking on Wolves on Friday.

The Anfield legend shared that he thought the Reds winger had already silenced those who doubted him after his start of the season due to not seeing his goal return be at the level some expected.

Dalglish pointed out that Salah was on fire in his opinion as he was starting to get his handful of goals in recent weeks.

“Salah is getting his handful again and he was getting a bit of criticism at the start of the season as he wasn’t as regular as last year, well he has defied that as well,” said Dalglish on Sky Sports Premier League (Friday December 21, 19:26).

“He has come back on and is on fire.”

OPINION

Anytime a Liverpool legend such as Dalglish praises a player every Reds fan takes noticed and there few players who deserve the spotlight as much as Salah. Lots of people were quick to jump on the 26-year-old having a perceived slow start to the season after his remarkable 2017/18 campaign where it just seemed like he couldn’t stop scoring. Yet those who doubted Salah are starting to feel foolish once again as he has been among the goals as of late. The winger scored an impressive hat-trick against Bournemouth, which included a fantastic solo goal, and just looked the complete package during that game. When you consider that Salah has been involved in 15 goals, scoring 10 while assisting five, in his 17 league outings this season, it’s laughable that some were starting to slyly imply that he was a one-season wonder. Hopefully Salah hears Dalglish’s endorsement of his talent as you feel it will have him smiling from ear to ear.
