Stan Collymore has predicted Liverpool will avoid their third successive defeat when they face Brighton at the weekend.

The outspoken pundit stated what the result would be when sharing his predictions for all the games that are being played this weekend in the Premier League via his official Twitter account.

And he thinks it will be surprisingly close.

The Reds travel to the Amex on Saturday hoping to avenge their FA Cup third round loss to Wolves on Monday, and Collymore has predicted that they will take home the spoils with a 2-1 win over the Seagulls on their home turf.

OPINION

It is not a surprise in the slightest that Collymore has predicted Liverpool to get all three points in this match. Despite the fact that they have had two back-to-back defeats – as well as managing to only beat Brighton 1-0 at Anfield the last time the two sides met this season – it would be a shock not to see them get the much-needed victory. Yes, admittedly Brighton are very strong at home and it is where they perform at their best, but Liverpool have too much quality for Chris Hughton’s side at the moment. There is no doubting that Brighton will put up a fight on Saturday, but the Reds desperately need these three points to get their confidence back as well as their season back on track. Manchester City are quickly closing the gap at the top of the Premier League table, but if Collymore’s prediction is anything to go by, that will not be happening any time soon.
