OPINION
It is hard not to agree with these fans and their verdict on Gini Wijnaldum in the first half against Leicester. The Reds went 1-0 after three minutes courtesy of Sadio Mane, but it was the Dutchman who really stood out despite not getting on the scoresheet. Many of these supporters have noted how he is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League, and it is easy to see why they have come to such an opinion. He is a player who does not get raved about very often, but most of the time, he is one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers. His displays go under the radar, but tonight, that has certainly not happened. He was one of the best players on the pitch in this 1-1 draw with the Foxes at Anfield. One described him as a “classy operator”, and he is not far wrong. Wijnaldum did not put a foot wrong all evening, and the fans will no doubt have their fingers crossed that he can maintain it.
