Luis Suarez has confessed his admiration for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, and has suggested that he would love to play for him.

The ex-Reds man, who left for Barcelona in 2014 where he won the Champions League, has also claimed that he will have a lifelong bond with the Anfield club.

Speaking to German magazine 11FREUNDE, he said: “Anyone who has ever played in Liverpool remains connected to the club for a lifetime.

“The team plays terrific football and I am very interested in how they will do this year. I think we can still be prepared for a lot.

“Currently we work for two different clubs so that’s not an issue for me at the moment.

“But sure every player would like to train under Jurgen Klopp.”

OPINION

Suarez might not be suggesting that he’s going to be resigning for Liverpool any time soon, but his outlook does give an insight into how Jurgen Klopp has brought success to Anfield. The German is one of the most affable, effervescent, and charismatic managers in world football, and it’s no wonder that there are  host of top class players who would jump at the chance to to play for him. He has revitalised a club that was in the doldrums for so long, and has reintroduced a sense of pride in a team that is so important to it’s surrounding city. You would be hard pushed to find a player who didn’t speak highly of Liverpool, and that feeling of connection has surely been increased by the joy that Klopp has brought to the Kop. The club are on the cusp of something special and they only have the grinning German to thank for that.
