It wasn’t so long ago that Fabinho was unable to force his way into Liverpool’s first team.

After a big money move from Monaco in the summer, the Brazilian found himself warming the substitute’s bench for the majority of the first half of the season, but a few weeks down the line, and things couldn’t be more different.

A series of eye-catching displays have meant that he has forced his way into the starting lineup, and on the strength of his recent performances, he looks as if he has no intention of relinquishing that role any time soon.

Another comprehensive outing against Watford, as his side romped to a 5-0 demolition, was surely enough to convince Jurgen Klopp that the 25-year-old is truly undroppable.

The assurance he has on the ball in the centre of the park is matched only be his intelligence in reading the game and his full-bloodedness in the tackle.

Every great team needs an enforcer in the engine room, a player who does the dirty work for little to no recognition and is happy to see his teammates take all the glory.

Fabinho looks just like that sort of player. You get the impression that he gets a buzz out of smart five yard passes and crunching tackles, and it’s brilliant.

If Liverpool do manage to go all the way this season there will be a lot of players who take the plaudits, but Fabinho should be right up there amongst them.
